|Students will write two tests during the semester. The sum of points for the tests is 50. Students get credits for the course if they reach the sum of at least 31 points. Students are graduated as follows: A 46–50 points, B 41–45 points, C 37–40 points, D 32–36 points, E 28–31 points.|
|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Students know methods used to characterize physical and chemical properties of polymers including molecular structure, morphology, molecular organisation and surface properties of polymers.They are able to combine spectroscopic, microscopic and thermal methods and use them to analyse and characterization of polymer compositions and surface analysis.|
|Methods used to characterize molecular structure, morphology and molecular organisation of polymers.
Spectroscopy (Infrared, UV Vis, NMR, Raman) and their use for the study of the structure, crystallinity determination, curing of polymers and identification of additives in polymer.
The role of diffraction and microscopy (TEM, SEM, AFM) by elucidating the organization and morphology of multiphasic polymeric materials.
Thermal analysis of polymers.
Surface analysis and barrier properties of polymers.
