Assesment methods:
They write also tests at the beginning of laboratory verifying the readiness to practice. They write reports of the individual assignments. The students have to pass the written and oral exam. The final rating is calculated as follows: 10% tests from the laboratory, 30% reports, 30% each part of exam. The final rating will be determined in accordance with rules established by the study rules STU.

Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students have become familiar with the principles of development mathematical models of more complex processes in chemical and food industries, i. e. processes with distributed parameters, semi-batch and batch processes. They are able to use models for the simulation of dynamic and static behaviour of processes. Students can work with the programming tool Matlab - Simulink.

Course contents:
Introduction into the Modelling in the Process Industry, the purpose of modelling, static and dynamic models of tubular heat exchangers, tray and stuffed distillation columns, stuffed absorption columns, various types of extractors, tubular chemical reactors without and with catalyst, batch and semi-batch chemical and biochemical reactors, batch extractors and batch distillation columns.
