Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students know fundamentals of concepts and terminology of advanced separation and identification methods, advanced chromatographic methods and combined techniques, ambient mass spectrometry techniques. Students learn modern identification methods. They have knowledge about the use of advanced analytical methods in research and analytical control practice.
 
Course contents:
Separation of complex mixtures of organic compounds
Treatment of the sample before analysis
Chromatographic methods
Separation in trace and ultra-trace analysis of biological and environmental samples
Combined techniques of analytical methods
Applications of combined techniques in structure analysis and identification
Identification of compounds
Mass spectromety
Interpretation of MS spectra, MS quantification
Identification of compounds by mass spectra
Possibilities of interferences during identification and determination of compounds
Identification of substances by NMR
Combined use of spectroscopic methods for the analysis of the structure of organic compounds
