Assesment methods:
The student must pass a written examination. The notation is defined by the currently valid study regulations at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student will acquire knowledge in terms of statistical thermodynamics of ideal gases, real gases, the ideal crystal and the statistical interpretation of chemical phenomena such as chemical equilibrium and phase transformations in simple systems. She/he is able to calculate the thermodynamic properties of spectroscopic data of the molecule.
 
Course contents:
Probability. Statistical ensembles. Partition function and Boltzmann statistics. Ideal gas. Calculation of molecular partition function. Real gas. Heat of capacity for ideal crystal. Langmuir's adsorption isotherm.
