Assesment methods:
Students will write two tests during the semester. The sum of pointsfor the tests is 40. Students get credits for the course if they reach the sum of at least 23 points. Students are graduated as follows: A 37–40 points, B 33–36 points, C 30–32 points, D 26–29 points, E 23–25 points.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The aim of this subject is to provide information on history, theoretical principles of photographic and printing processes and their practical application.
Students know the principles of formation of analogue and digital photographic record and technical reproduction of color. They have information on trends in the printing and packaging industry and know the basic stages of printing - prepress, press and postpress. Students can evaluate the impact of different printing techniques on the environment. They can identify security features of the documents. They understand the principles, composition and printing of solar cells.
 
Course contents:
Graphic and digital image.
Light and color, colorimetry.
Principles of technical color reproduction.
Image record - camera and digital camera, processing of record.
Digital photography - processing of image file.
Graphic arts technology.
Prepress.
Printing technologies, classification, characterization.
Printing papers and inks.
Principles of analog and digital printing technologies, printing machines.
Postpress.
Identification of security features of the documents.
Principles, composition and printing of solar cells.
