Assesment methods:
Evaluation of preparedness for laboratory seminar (15 points), work in laboratory (15 points), evaluation of reports (10 points) and discussion of results (10 points). Students will get credits for the course if they earn at least 28 points. Students are graduated as follows: A 46-50 points, B 41-46 points, C 37-40 points, D 32-36 points, E 28-31 points.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students acquire laboratory skills in study of photochemical processes. They acquire knowledge and practical experience on preparation and characterization of light sensitive layers and photoresists used in industry, basic principles of processing and evaluation of classical and digital photography, black and white as well as color photography, basics of screening used in reproduction of image and color in printing and advanced densitometry and colorimetry procedures of measuring and evaluation of quality of image reproduction.
Course contents:
Radiometry and photometry, actinometry.
UV-VIS spectroscopy.
Light sensitive layers and photoresists, photopolymerization.
Photographic processes
- black and white and color classical (silverhalide) photography - densitometry and sensistometry of photographic materials;
- digital photography -- measurement of quality of reproduction of image and color.
Physical principles of technical color reproduction.
Colorimetry and reproduction of color image. Color management in reproduction of color image. Screening and image analysis.
