Assesment methods:
Students will pass three tests for 20 points for each one during the semester. Students will successfully pass the tests if they ears at least 35 points. Students will also pass oral exam for 40 points. The maximum number of points required for the oral exam is 25 points.Students will get credits for the course if they successfully pas both, the written tests and the oral exam. Student receives credit if the results were assessed by one of the classification grades from A to E. Students are graded as follows:A - 92-100%, B - 83-91, C - 74-82, D - 65-73 E - 56-64, FX - 0-55%.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student has knowledge of basic chemical and engineering processes, and devices of silicate industry. The student knows the technological operations and technological schemes of individual devices (kiln lines, mills, crushers) used in cement, ceramic and glass industry. The student is able to establish the material and heat balance based on physico-chemical reactions and thermodynamic data in the planning of a particular product, as well as the the principal formulation of heat transfer and heat exchange processes in the various aggregates of furnace systems.
 
Course contents:
Application of chemical engineering in the manufacture of ceramic materials, glass and inorganic binders. Processings, princip of chemical and physical of high temperature processes in the manufacture. Equipements for treatment of raw materials and kiln systems
