Test - max 10 points,
Preparation, execution and processing of measurements - 30 points,
Final exam (written and oral) - 60 points.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student understands the principles of the measurement and its evaluation. He learns analyzing properties of selected analog and digital instrument. Student gains a basic knowledge of automated measuring systems. He learns design and implementation of selected methods for measuring electrical and non-electrical quantities, as well as processing and interpretation of measurement results.
 
Course contents:
Basic terms in measurement. Model of measurement. Evaluation of measurements. Expression of measurement errors and uncertainties.
Measuring instruments, basic properties.
Electromechanical and electronic analog measuring instruments.
Oscilloscopes.
Basics of digital measurement. Digital instruments.
Principles of automated measuring systems.
Electrical measurement methods. Measurement of voltage and current.
Measurement of power (1- and 3- phase) and energy.
Measurement of frequency, time and phase-shift.
Measurement using oscilloscope.
Measurement of passive electrical quantities - resistance, impedance, capacitance and inductance.
Measurement of selected non-electrical quantities by electrical methods.
