Prerequisites for registration: not type of study: bachelor
Assesment methods:
Active participation in Design Studio course unit. Presentation of the design concept during the semester. Processing Design Studio 5 to satisfactory graphics and technical level in the given range. Participation in the defense commission coursework within the deadline set by the Department of Architecture. Participation in the defense of the Design studio is conditioned by completing consultations from statics, fire safety of buildings, building services, which has to be confirmed by the consultants respective with his signature in the task sheet.
Student submits drafted coursework including all attachments in accordance with the task sheet before the presentation at the defense commission.

Assessment of the course unit is in accordance with the University regulations and Code of studies, article no.16. Assessment grading scale consists of the following classification grades:

A – 92 - 100 %, B – 83 – 91 %, C – 74 – 82 %, D – 65 – 73 %, E – 56 – 64%, FX – 0 – 55 %

A - distinguished (outstanding results) = 1, B - excellent (above average results) = 1.5, C - good (average results) = 2, D - satisfactory (acceptable results) = 2.5, E - passing (results meet only minimum criteria) = 3, FX - fail (results do not meet minimum criteria) = 4
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student will acquire skills in design, based on knowledge obtained in architectural and other theoretical and technical course units.
The result of the creative approach will be the student’s independent architectural design of civic buildings, buildings for short-term accommodation, office buildings and industrial buildings.
Design Studio is focused on understanding of principles and methods of architectural design and on independent, creative work and conceptual thinking.
The attention is also paid to professional argumentation and verbal presentation of the student.
Course contents:
The student is required to prepare architectural design of the given type of building at a specified level of architectural studies (residential buildings, civic buildings, office buildings, commercial buildings)
The basis for the Design studio project is a zoning plan with a building site, spatial and functional regulations and architectural brief, or programmatic and capacity scope.
The student must respect: zoning plan, spatial and functional regulations, existing greenery, transport system, orientation of a building site, topography.
The student will design 1 architectural-construction detail, characteristic for the building.

The student's design of the structure is complex:
- in terms of the architectural design
- in terms of the structural design
- in terms of the fire safety of buildings, evacuation of people, the property division of the zones
- in terms of the technical equipment of buildings

Documentation will be processed by computer graphics and bound in A3.
CD / DVD in format *. Pdf, with complete documentation of pages 01- 12
All sketches will be composed on A3 size. Together with the input tasksheet will be stored in a container attached to the graphical part of entries.
Presentation at the defense commission will be in the form of PowerPoint (. ppt optionable).
