Assesment methods:
Passing of two tests during semester (min. 56% criterion of success), correct processing of all reports.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
To understand principles of using CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems in field of surveying, geodesy, cadastre, cartography and geoinformatics. To obtain practical knowledge about basic geometrical primitives creation and editing in computer environment, about creation of complex objects, symbols and maps compositions. To know how to design structures of CAD files, to process data from field surveying. To obtain knowledge about linking of the graphical and thematical data. To obtain experience from map and graphical outputs creation.
Course contents:
User interface of CAD – Bentley Microstation – basics of using.
Creation and organisation of design files, (models, views, layers, templates).
Settings of user interface (construction area, working units, seed file and grid).
Creation of basic graphical objects in different layers, using of AccuDraw tool.
Editing and manipulation with graphical features, named groups and saved views.
Hatching of areas, grouping of nested features (holes).
Cells and cells libraries. Cell library creation, usage of cells in cartography.
Associated and shared cells.
Vector reference file – attaching, using and manipulation with models.
Raster reference file – transformation and raster file processing.
Data formats, export/import, processing of measured data from field, import of coordinates, digital map construction with using of surveying extension.
Working with relational databases, creating of database, manipulation with database records attached to graphical features in design file.
Creating and printing of graphical and map composition.
