|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Students will acquire basic knowledge of the applications of optimization and statistical methods in engineering practice. After successful completion of this course the student will be able to apply basic methods of linear programming, dynamic programming and discrete optimization to address the organizational and technological problems in construction and will be able to apply basic statistical methods in construction.|
|- Linear programming - simplex algorithm, duality, distribution algorithms and their applications in the construction industry.
- Dynamic programming and discrete optimization problems in securing the transport, construction and technological processes.
- Random variables and their distribution, numerical characteristics, statistical analysis of real data sets.
- Statistical hypothesis testing, correlation and regression analysis and their use in the civil engineering business.
