|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Student will be familiar with theoretical and algorithmic aspects of the finite element method for solving ordinary and partial differential equations.|
|- The basic concept of the finite element method (FEM).
- Integral formulation of boundary value problems for ordinary and partial differential equations, Ritz-Raleigh and Galerkin method.
- Solution of boundary value problems by FEM.
- Approximation functions, numerical integration and computer realization of FEM.
- Solution of nonstationary problems by FEM.
