Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The subject offers intruduction and BASIC principles on the topic of Ventilation and Air - conditioning. It introduces basics for design of forced ventilation systems - central ones, local, distribution system, etc.. The basic information on Natural ventilation is presented, too.
Course contents:
• Ventilation and air-conditioning as a tool for the indoor environment formation
in buildings.
• Analytical and empirical methods for the airflow (air quantity) calculation.
• Analytical method for formation indoor climate. Air volume requirements considering
heat load - Part 1 (solar heat gains)
• Analytical method for formation indoor climate. Air volume requirements considering
heat load - Part 2 ( internal heat gains).
• Forced ventilation. Central and local air conditioning equipment and design.
• Plant for air - conditioning - requirements.
• Outdoor Inlet and Outlets.
• Aerodynamics – airflow _ part 1 - in open face.
• Aerodynamics – airflow _ part 2 - in ducts.
• Duct and distribution network.
• Air treatment equipment.
• Basic of air thermodynamics – psychrometry. Local air-conditioning.
• Ventilation systems for heat and other polutant outlet.
• Natural ventilation - principles and applications(infiltration, window ventilation etc.)
