|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|To obtain knowledge of web-based technologies for processing and providing spatial information. To acquire practical experience in the use of web services and web portals. To understand the principles of mobile technology in processing and use of spatial data. To know the procedures and methods of spatial data publication on the web and understand the principles of the use of standard specifications of web technologies.|
|Web technologies to support the providing of spatial information.
Standard specifications (developed by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)) and standard exchange format for storing and transfer of data in a web environment.
Open data in the web environment.
Basic principles of the semantic web.
Web services and portals focused on the providing of spatial data.
Mobile technologies and their potential for collection and use of spatial data.
