Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Subject extends students' knowledge of sanitary facilities - water supply and sewage deals with the design and calculation of specific sanitary facilities which are included in the buildings also outside the buildings, for example.: sanitary facilities for people with reduced mobility, automatic pressure stations, facilities for preparation of domestic hot water, water treatment, safety devices against back flow of water, pumping equipments, seepage.
Course contents:
- Sanitation facilities for people with reduced mobility. Design and disposition of sanitary rooms in residential and public buildings. Sanitary ware, valves and fittings, technical requirements and specifications of disable spaces.
- Methods for preparation of domestic hot water in buildings. Storage water heating, flow heating and combined heating of domestic hot water. Designing a boilers for central and local heating. Physical aspects of water flow in water pressure system, water supply of high buildings, automatic pressure station, own source of water.
- Designing of security devices against back flow of water in water pipeline and their technical solutions. Check valves and protection unit to ensure the protection of drinking water from pollution.
- Designing of wastewater pumping equipment in the building and outside the building. Designing of pumps, storage tanks and discharge piping. Ensuring sublevels against flooding.
- Soakage devices. Designing of soakage devices for surface and underground stormwater infiltration from the surfaces of buildings and paved areas.
