|Prerequisites for registration:||none|
|During the semester, a student can obtain up to 20 points from exercises, including the maximum of 15 points from main tests and the maximum of 5 points for the activity on exercises. Additionally, up to 80 points can be obtained from the written final examination.|
Prerequisites for granting the course credits are: participation on the exercises with more than 3 absences and gain of at least 8 points in the exercises.
Conditions for successful completion of the examination are: getting the course credit, achieving at least 56 points in total from exercises and a written final examination.
|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Semester is divided into four parts. In the first part a student acquire knowledge of integral calculus of functions of one variable. The second part teaches students basic calculus of functions of several variables, including engineering applications. The third part of the semester is devoted to differential geometry of curves and surfaces in space. Finally, the basic spherical trigonometry is gone over.|
|- Indefinite and definite integrals, use of definite integrals in physics and geometry
- Real functions of several variables, partial derivatives, differentiability, gradient, the derivative in certain direction, local and constrained extrema, saddle points.
- Differential geometry of curves in a space, accompanying trihedron.
- Differential geometry of surfaces, first and second fundamental form of a surface, the main curvatures and principal directions, geodesic curvature.
- Spherical triangle, existential sentences, solving right and general spherical triangle.
