Assesment methods:
Active participation in the exercises (max. 3 absences).
Correctly prepared given graphic works.
Successful completion of a written and oral test (min. 56 %).

Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students become acquainted with the application of knowledge of central projection, linear perspective and stereoscopy in the re-construction of objects from photographic images in photogrammetry, and projective properties of photographic image as well. Students achieve knowledge of geometric basis of cartography and they are able to see geometric relationships in the creation of geographic network in various types of cartographic projections, namely azimuthal, cylindrical, conical, pseudocylindric, pseudoazimuthal, polyconic, etc.

Course contents:
•Double-central projection -- basic terms, image of a point, node points, node lines. Stereoscopy, principle and analytic equations.
•Geometric basis of photogrammetry -- basic terms and analytic equations.
•Projective properties of photographic images -- double ratio and projectivity. Re-construction of terrain from photographic images. Detection of geometric parameters of photographic image - central point and focal distance.
•Re-construction of objects from horizontal, vertical photographic image and stereoscopic images.
•Cylindrical and conical projection - definitions, properties, image of objects and evolving onto a plane.
•Geometric basis of cartography -- reference surfaces of Earth and their applications, coordinate systems -- geographic, orthogonal spatial and their relation. Classification of cartographic projections.
•Cylindrical and conical projections (for example: Lambert isocylindrical, Braun stereographic projection, Ptolemaios, etc.), pseudocylindrical projections linear, circular, sinusoidal, elliptical (for example: Mercator-Sanson, Eckert, Mollweid, etc.), pseudoazimuthal and polyconic projections (for example: WernerStabe, Hassler, etc.).
•Azimuthal projections -- projection of geographic network of sphere and orthodrome in orthographic, stereographic and gnomonic projection in normal, transversal and general positions.
