|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Students will learn modern algorithms for solving the linear systems of equations, both direct and basic iterative methods as well as preconditioned iterative methods based on the theory of Krylov subspaces. They will also obtain knowledge of numerical methods to determine eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices, and generalized solutions of singular systems of equations.|
|- Displaying of numbers in the computer and arithmetic properties of floating-point, conditionality of tasks, stability algorithms.
- Direct methods for solving systems of linear equations - tridiagonal solver, Gaussian elimination, QR, LU and Cholesky decomposition.
- Iterative methods for solving systems of linear equations - Jacobi, Gauss-Seidel, SOR method.
- The conjugate gradient method and other methods based on Krylov subspaces.
- Numerical methods for determining the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices.
