|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Student will gain deep knowledge in classical solution of partial differential equations (PDEs) of elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic type, mainly by the method of characteristics, Fourier's method, method of Green function and by means of convolution.|
|- Klassification of PDEs.
- Initial-boundary value problems for PDEs - formulation and applications.
- Method of characteristics for wave equation.
- Fourier's method of separation of variables.
- Method of the Green function for elliptic and parabolic equations.
- Potential theory.
- Euler-Lagrange equations and minimization of functionals.
