Knowledge obtained during masters study in field of building and urban acoustics
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student gain deeper theoretical knowledge about design and evaluation of building constructions and buildings in terms of Building and architectural acoustics applicable in practice. Buildings sitting according to noise in exterior. Design and evaluation of internal and external constructions from a material composition and sound insulation point of view. Theoretic solution methods of predicted sound levels in exterior and interior. Practical methods of noise reduction in exterior and interior and design of structural treatments against the noise.
Simulations in building and urban acoustics. Measuring methods and their evaluation for building and design practice. Elaboration of noise study for Territorial decision. Computer simulations.
Course contents:
- Fundamentals of sound propagation in exterior and interior environment, principle of sound propagation in materials and structures
- Means of design and evaluation of building constructions from a sound insulation point of view. Methods of traffic noise calculations, its evaluation and proposal of measure
- Materials and their sound absorbing and sound insulating properties.
- Laboratory measurement methods of vertical and horizontal constructions in building acoustics
- Measurement methods in building and laboratory conditions, their evaluation
- Evaluation criteria of sound insulation of building constructions and buildings
- Processing of measured data using computer software
- Computer simulation methods in building and urban acoustics
- Hygienic aspects of indoor and outdoor environment from noise point of view
- Criteria for outdoor environment from a buildings sitting in urban development point of view
- Methods of measuring and evaluating of noise indoor and outdoor
