Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student obtains detailed theoretical knowledge about obtaining of quality water for drinking and industry purposes, obtain knowledge not only about present technologic processes and facilities, equipments for water treatment, but about new methods used in water treatment, materials and equipments too.
 
Course contents:
• Conditions of using of water resources for drinking and industry purposes.
• Surface and ground water treatment used for public water supply and for industry
• Selected physical-chemical processes in water treatment – flotation
• Selected physical-chemical processes in water treatment – membrane technologies
• Selected physical-chemical processes in water treatment – adsorption
• Water treatment in selected industry – cooling water, water for paper and pulp industry
• Chemical system of water treatment plants – chemical agents, storage, preparation of solutions, dosing
• Sludge management of water treatment plants
