Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Graduate student is familiar with basic principles of physics of solid matter, he/she knows basic crystall structures, physico-chemical properties. He/she knows crystall idetification methods and they are familiar with rtg analysis.
 
Course contents:
Characterisation of crystall structure
Basic type of crystall structure
Relations between structure and properties of solid matter
Real crystalls, lattice imperfections, typology
Mechanisms of crystall difusion process
Mechanical, electrical, optical and magnetical properties of solid matter
Heat properties of crystalls: heat capacity, thermal expansion and thermal conductivity
rtg method
Analytical use of rtg
Disordered structures
