Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student acquires knowledge on survey and analysis of objects of heritage using modern instrumental methods and knows the principles of methods. He/sho knows how to prepare sample, decide the most appropriate method of measurement and design suitable procedure and choose instrumentation for particular problem.
 
Course contents:
Principles of survey and analysis of objects of heritage
Methods of molecular spectroscopy, surface spectroscopy
Electron absorption spectroscopy and luminescence spectroscopy
Infrared, Raman and NIR spectroscopies
Mass spectroscopy and NMR spectroscopy
X-rays methods and their potential
Optical microscopy of materials and objects, image analysis
Photography in visible, UV and IR range, multispectral imaging methods
Chromatographic methods
Thermoanalytical methods
Chemometric methods for processing of spectral and multidimensional data sets
Invasive methods, collecting of samples and separation methods
Methods of survey and study of selected group of objects of heritage
