Learning outcomes of the course unit:
To teach students the principles of many-body perturbation theory at atomic and molecular levels.
Course contents:
Exact and approximated wavefunctions. Variational principle, size-extensivity. Hartree-Fock theory. Bases od atomic functions. Short-range interactions and orbital expansions. RSPT and Wigner perturbation treatments. Configuration interaction theory. MCSCF method. Coupled clusters theory. Methods of electron density functionals. TD-HF method. Td-DFT method. RI-CC and RI-DFT approximations.
