lecture5 hours weekly (on-site method)

Credits allocated: 6
Recommended semester/trimester: Organic Technology and Technology of Fuels - doctoral (semi-compulsory), 1. year
Level of study: 3.
Prerequisites for registration: none
Assesment methods:
Overall evaluation of study follows rules given in “Study order of STU”.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students will gain knowledge on the distribution, stocks, mining and processing of unconventional sources of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons. Controls the conversion of heavy hydrocarbon feeds in modern technologies with fluidized bed in the presence of hydrogen. Means the technology of synthetic liquid and gaseous fuels. Knows ways to capture CO2 from conversion processes of energy production and utilization of CO2. Student understands interconnections and complex processes in biorefineries.
Course contents:
Processing of heavy crude oilsunconventional sources of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons. Of heavy crude oils , heavy oil residue , oil sands , oil shale , shale gas , gas hydrates and bio-oil of different origins . The sustainability of hydrocarbon feedstocks . The conversion of hydrocarbon feedstocks in the fluid bed technology . Technology of production of liquid fuels from synthesis gas ( MTG process (methanol to gasoline ) , MOGD (Mobil Olefins to gasoline distillates ) , MTO ( Methanol to Olefins ) , Fischer - Tropsch process ) . Microchannel technology . Conversion processes for bio-oil - complex biorefinery . Coprocess pure bio-oil and bio-oil processing for the production of automotive fuels. Chemical technologies for zero emission ( energy efficiency in industrial processes , CO2 capture from power generation conversion processes , the use of CO2 ) . Production and storage of hydrogen. Fuel cells.
