Assesment methods:
Lecture cycle accompanied by an image presentation. Students undertake a test during the semester. Prior to the final examination students will submit a short seminar paper on a selected topic chosen from the subject of the lectures. A basic reading list for the subject will be disclosed during the lectures.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The first group of lectures is an introduction focusing on the fundamental theoretical questions of art history, classification and periodization of eras and artistic streams in Europe and worldwide. It follows the evolution of art, architecture and crafts in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, ancient Greece and Rome. It also deals with medieval art in paintings, sculptures and the issues concerning cathedral art in early Christian, Romanesque and Gothic periods.

3.History of creative and aplied art of late Rome, early Christian, Rreromanic and Romanic era (allowance 6/0)
4.History of medieval creative and aplied art (allowance 6/0)
