Assesment methods:
Lecture cycle accompanied by an image presentation. Students undertake a test during the semester. Prior to the final examination students will submit a short seminar paper on a selected topic chosen from the subject of the lectures. A basic reading list for the subject will be disclosed during the lectures.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The third group of lectures focuses on art of the second half of the 19th century and the 20th century as it exists in painting, architecture, art and craft and design. Lectures are designed with regard to the establishment and development of avant-garde art movements and styles from the modern period and the period between wars in Europe and America. They also deal with the semantic factors surrounding artistic movements that arose after World War II. Lectures also include some philosophical and cultural background on post-modernism and contemporary art and architecture. The cycle is complemented by the interpretation of the manifests and paradigms of art works and aesthetics of the period of the 20th and early 21st century.
