Conditions for passing the subject:
Active participation in the exercises in accordance with the FASTU study rules. Regular presentation of a minimum of three tasks. The seminar work needs to be handed in the minimum extent (cca 20 pages A4) and it needs to respect the requested content level.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Learning outcomes:
Students will acquire advanced knowledge in the field of heritage conservation in general and also for the theoretical preparation of given tasks. Each student shall know how to obtain and process information, make evaluative analyses of a given area and building as well as be capable of working with heritage conservation documentation as the basis for proposing any restoration of a building. The student shall have more in depth knowledge on methodologies of new interventions into historical environments and conservation and restoration of monuments and he/she shall obtain knowledge of the practices in Slovakia. The student will be capable of demonstrating his/her verbal and argumentation skills in the field of heritage conservation.

Course contents:
The course runs parallel with the compulsory Design Studio VII. It provides a ground for the analysis of relevant documents and comparative examples to the subject of the design studio assignment within the M5 module and it also enhances students‘ knowledge in the field of heritage preservation as well as new design in historic environments by means of individual and consulted tasks. The course includes selected lectures by experts and excursions. Ongoing presentations and discussions increase the ability of students to properly propose and finally defend the task elaborated under the M5 module.
