Assesment methods:
Urban proposal, processed in requested range. Required are two committee checks during design process. Unsuccessful second check means failure of course. Final proposal should be defended in the front of committee.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student will acquire knowledge, skills and abilities in designing and processing of urban concepts at zonal level. Part of the design process is understanding of impact of broader territorial context (from the scale of region to the scale of city and zone). Comprehensive approach to solving the functional, spatial, technical arrangement of the area is required, while taking into consideration the conditions of transportation. During the design of urban-architectural detail will student acquire skills to understand the relations between urban concept, public space and architecture.
Course contents:
Wider relations - documentation of relationship of settlement, landscape and designed area (M1: 2000 - 1: 10000).
2. Surveys and analyzes, including SWOT analyses (M1: 1000 - 1: 2000).
3. Comprehensive urban design (M1: 1000 - 1: 2000) with additional function, transport, composition, greenery schemes
4. Urban detail of the core space (M1: 500), including axonometric, perspective and street views
5. Model - verification of the spatial structure.
