Partial seminar works are elaborated by students who can verify with teachers their own applications and knowledge acquired by a self-study during the tutorial hours in the practical part of the subject. After conveying each individual part of the assignment the commission consisting of lectors and a guarantor will evaluate it. During the practical training a student is obliged to consult each part. The auxiliary foundation and illustrative materials can be presented in the form of a photograph, the copies of plans and maps, and drawings. In case that the work was copied either from a viewpoint of the content or the form the assessment will be null. In case that a student got ill he will have to comply with rules indicated in the Study programme of the particular academic year.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
An objective of the subject is to provide students of the 1st year of study a brief, but comprehensive view of the system of legalities and links occurring in the process of the creation of architectural works. The subject is directed to a large range of typological, functional, composition, structural and economic principles which are typical for the above-mentioned works. The purpose of the subject is to stimulate the creative ambitions of students and develop their correct and ethical habits leading to the architectural practice and especially to the comprehensive understanding of the architectural design considered from the viewpoint of theory and practice.
Course contents:
The subject defines the basic concepts and relations among individual conceptual categories which are applied in individual methodological steps leading to the aim -- architectural design. The principles of architectural works are demonstrated in three basic architectural dimensions: in the civic design, in the architecture of buildings and in the interior. The links to other subjects are only marginal.
