Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The students will gain a deepened knowledge of selected specific areas of residential, public, administrative interior and interior elements. Through sample applications of design solutions he will be acquainted with the specifics of designing of particular interior design components, media-, technical- and mobiliar equipment, with current environmentally friendly and innovative directions/trends in interior design.
Course contents:
1. Building interior elements,
2. Horizontal constructions in the interior – floors,
3. Horizontal constructions in the interior – top walls and suspended ceilings,
4. Vertical interior constructions – walls and columns,
5. Window design in the interior – windows, solar-control technology,
6. Doorways design in the interior – door panellings,
7. Media equipment in the interior – fixed and movable components, furniture with media
8. Mounted partition systems in the interior – design, principles of universality, variability and flexibility,
9. Acoustic elements in the interior – the direct and indirect acoustic measures
10. Lighting and light fixtures – innovative tendencies,
11. Unconventional furniture concepts,
12. Unusual direction in interior design concepts.
