Assesment methods:
Regular attendance at lectures and consultations, own design proposal of selected city mobiliar/small architecture element, public presentation of design work in the course of semester. Submission of elaborated design work in graphic and digital form in the scope and content according to seminar assignement in date stated by Study order of FA STU.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the sphere of designing city mobiliar/small architecture elements. He acquaints himself with the basic functional-operational, typological, ergonomic, art-compositional principles and contextual relationships of design. He gains knowledge concerning standard and innovative material basis, application of means of expression and current trends in designing of complementary city elements. After finishing the seminar, he will be able to design small street elements with respect to existing surroundings limits. He will be able to elaborate graphical dokumentation at the 1st phase of the project documentation in the given field of the subject.

Course contents:
Theoretical/lecture phase:
- City interior – types of spaces, contextual relations of city mobiliar to its surroundings,
-„Small architecture“ elements – categorization, design, typological, ergonomic, compositional
aspects of designing,
- City mobiliar – categorization, design, typological, ergonomic, compositional aspects of
- Exterior walking areas – types, design, materials, compositional aspects of designing,
innovative forms,
- Exterior lighting units and systems – types, design, materials, compositional aspects of
designing, innovative forms,
- Advertising media - types, design, materials, compositional and contextual aspects of
designing, current trends,
- Elements designed for children – design and designing principles,
- Colour – optical attributes and visual effects of town design elements.

Designing phase:
- Assignments´s presentation,
- Choice of designed space and element,
- Design proposal of city mobiliar,
- Model design solution.
