Assesment methods:
The midterm exam is worth 20% and lab assignments are worth 40%. Submission of the project and at least 50% success rate on the midterm exam is required before being allowed to take the final exam. The final exam is worth 40%.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Introductory software engineering course focuses on practical processes and procedures used in developing large and complex software systems. The course covers all stages of software life-cycle – requirements specification and analysis, design, partially also implementation, and testing. Also covered will be many different aspects of software development, such as project management, change management, software reuse, rapid development, and secure software development. Unified Modeling Language is presented and used throughout the course.
