Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The course provides to student basic knowledge on management systems in the world, shown on the examples of successful international and Slovak companies (Japanese, US management, etc.). Student will learn the fundamental approaches from the theory of management applicable by entrepreneurs in development of business plan, starting up a company and managing its growth. He/she will achieve knowledge about legal business forms and conditions of private enterprize in Slovakia, on the aims of business activity, sources of company financing and investments as well as tax system and fees. He/she will be able to develop a company business plan for starting up its operation based on suitable type of business.
Course contents:
Reasons and risks of business ventures, business types, importance of small and medium enterprize in economy.
Essence and importance of company management and its functions.
Management systems in the world.
Role of manager in effective management of company processes, leadership and management of work teams.
Strategy and planning in a company.
Business plan – SWOT analysis of own company and competition in the market.
Corporate organization and human resource management.
Motivation and communication in organization.
Entrepreneurial processs and founding a company, legal forms of entrepreneurship.
Company assets and sources of their financing.
Financial management of company.Basics of tax system in Slovakia.
Customer focus, marketing and pricing.
Basics of tax system in Slovakia.
Intellectual property rights in a company.
