Prerequisites for registration: passed Measurement Technology 1 (B-MER1) or passed Measurement (B-MER)
 
Assesment methods:
Experimental practices reports - max 20 points,
Individual project work - max 30 points,
Final exam - max 50 points
Final assessment is given by the current study rules.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Students know and are able state of art methods of electrical quantities measurements and their application in instruments. They understand principles and properties of modern instruments. Students obtain basic knowledge of instrument's circuits. They know to measure using special instruments. Students obtain ability to design complex measuring systems.
 
Course contents:
Principles of measurement instruments.
Signal processing. Operational amplifier and its usage in measurement.
Measuring transducers. Special circuits in measurement technology.
Principles of digital measurement. AD and DA conversion, sampling, alisaing, quantization.
Types and principles of AD and DA converters. Properties of the converters.
Digital oscilloscopes. Oscilloscope probes and accessories.
Diagnostics of digital circuits.
Signal generators.
Measurement and testing methods of electric circuit parameters.
Measurement on two-ports. Impedance measurement.
Measurements in frequency domain.
Special radio-frequency measurements, vector network analyzer.
Design and realization of measuring instruments.
