Assesment methods:
Student should actively participate on lectures. Students will write two tests during the semester, sum of points for test is 30.Student will pass if he/she earns at least 16 points.
Student should pass the final exam. Evaluation according to the Study regulations in force.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student acquires knowledge on basics of theory of color, visual perception, colorimetry and color spaces, and knows processes of evaluation of color differences in quality control systems. He/she knows relationship between chemical structure and color properties of colorants. Student acquires knowledge on types of dyes and pigments for polymer materials and knows processes of optimization of dyeing recipes and color management in technical praxis.

Light and color, physical principles of the color light, photometry
Visual perception and color vision, psychophysical attributes of color, color vision deficiency
Objective measurement of color, colorimetry, color spaces, colorimeters
Color differences in color quality control of polymer materials and papers
Color order systems
Additive and subtractive color synthesis
Colorants, relationship between chemical structure and color, classifications of colorants
Dyes and pigments for dyeing of polymer materials
Special and miscellaneous colorants
Dyeing recipes and color management
Degradation of colorants a color layers, bleaching
Dyeing and environment
