|The course will be closed by a written test. It is necessary that students manage with all basic methods for the determination of individual biologically important metabolites (saccharides, proteins, lipids), biochemical calculations and that students present protocols of all experimental measurements. Students will be awarded by a note (classified credit).|
|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|The goal of this project is to teach students methods for the determination of simple metabolites and/or enzymes.|
|The goal of this project is to teach students methods for the determination of simple metabolites and/or enzymes. Following determinations will be performed by students:
Isolation of plant pigments, separation on TLC and quantitative determination by spectrophotometry of beta-carotene
Determination of glucose and other saccharides by three methods with different specificity.
Determination of proteins, comparison of three methods.
Isolation of phospholipids from the egg yolk, their TLC separation and quantitative determination of lecithin spectrophotometrically.
Volumetrical determination of vitamin C.
Determination of isoelectric point of proteins.
