Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Get familiarized with thermoanalytical methods and their application in the material science.
 
Course contents:
Definition of thermal analysis and overview of methods; Differential scanning calorimetry - principle and applications; Differential thermal analysis - principle and applications; Thermogravimetry - principle and applications; Simultaneous thermal analysis; Methods based on the dimensional changes of the sample (dilatometry, TMA, DMA); Chemiluminescence - principle and applications; Other thermoanalytical methods.
