|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|The addition and expansion of basic knowledge of chemistry, mainly with reference to its use in the engineering industry. The course is focused on main and support materials engineering (metals, plastics, composite materials, corrosion protection, water, fuel, lubricants), and used technologies (surface treatment), but also in areas where the uses machinery (food chemistry, environmental chemistry and biochemistry).|
|Structure of atom, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, stoichiometric calculations.
Acids, bases, pH. solutions, calculation the concentration.
Introduction to organic chemistry, hydrocarbons, derivatives of hydrocarbons, petroleum, composition and technology for crude oil processing.
Synthetic polymers, their division, properties and uses water, water hardness, methods of softening, waste water, cleaning and sterilizing water.
Metals, their properties, manufacture of basic metals, alloys of the metals, corrosion and anticorrostion protection, corrosion characteristics in the environment, speed and type, surface treatment.
Energetics of biochemical reactions.
Photosynthesis and metabolism of sugars, monosaccharides, polysaccharides, amino acids, proteins and their properties, lipids, biocatalysts, vitamins, enzymes, hormones.
Xenobiotics in foods, chemistry and the environment.
