Assesment methods:
During the semester students will write three credit tests. The maximum points for one credit test is 20 pionts. To pass the tests should be obtained at least 10 points in each test. Exam, consisting of three written and oral parts is rated with maximum of 30 points of each part. For the successful completion of the exam should be obtained at least 17 points from each part. Students will get credits for the subject if they successfully complete all credit tests and exam. Evaluation of each part is done as follows: A 46-50 points, B 41-45 points, C 37-40 points, D 32-36 points, E 31-27 points.
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The subject enables to the students obtain basic orientation in the principles, possibilities and application of the most widely used machine technologies - casting, welding and forming.
 
Course contents:
Historical introduction. Basic casting properties of metals and alloys. Solidificatin in the mould. Pattern equipments. Production of moulds. Design and production of castings. Casting defects. Intorduction in welding and allied processes. Flame welding. Arc welding. Resistance welding. Base of brazing and soldering. Oxygen thermal cutting. Theoretical suppositions of forming, metallurgical working, classification of forming methods, sheet metal forming -- cutting of material, bending, drawing, cold and hot bulk forming, machines, forming of plastics, compacting of powders.
