Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The aim is deepening of theoretical foundations of the basic mechanics of elastic and rigid bodies. The main focus is done on stress and deformation states, their application to the optimal solution of simple structural parts. Students can extend their theoretical background of Elasticity and Strength of Materials and obtain skills to analyze the influence of parameters on deformation and strength properties of simple design and optimize structural parts in the program MATLAB.
Course contents:
• Fundamentals of strength optimisation
• Optimisation of structural parts in tension
• Stress-strain state at body point and Mohr's circles
• Quadratic moments to obligue axes, unsymmetric bending
• Optimisation of structural parts in bending
• Influnce of temeperature and production imperfections onto the stress state structures
• Optimisation of structural parts in torsion
• Shape optimisation in combined loading
