Assesment methods:
The sum of points for the tests is 35. Students will succesfully pass the tests if they earn at least 35 points. Students will get credits for the course if they succesfully pass both, the written tests and the oral exam. Students are graded as follows:
A 100 - 91 points, B 90 - 81 points, C 80 - 71 points, D 70 -61 points, E 50 - 60 points
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student obtains an analytical description of mechanical systems. Understand the equation of motion for the compilation of general class of mechanical systems. Gives an overview of the variational principles, their characteristics and their use in preparing mathematical models of mechanical systems. In the second part of the subject to gain practical experience in the investigation of geometric stability of autonomous systems and Lyapunov stability for conservative gyroscopic, circulatory and asymmetric systems.
 
Course contents:
• stationary value functions and definite integrals
• Hamilton's principle, impulse, conservation laws
• Rayleigh dissipation function, Hamilton's equations, Gauss' principle
• Jourdain and Hertz principle Holder identity principle Maupertuisov-Euler
• Geometric investigation of the stability of autonomous systems
• Lyapunov stability, conservative systems and systems with damping
• Gyroscopic, circulatory and asymmetric systems
