Assesment methods:
The sum of points for the tests is 35. Students will succesfully pass the tests if they earn at least 35 points. Students will get credits for the course if they succesfully pass both, the written tests and the oral exam. Students are graded as follows:
A 100 - 91 points, B 90 - 81 points, C 80 - 71 points, D 70 -61 points, E 50 - 60 points
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The aim of this course is to teach students the theoretical foundations of dynamic analysis of machines in terms of protection from undesired vibration, in terms of assessment of reliable operation of machines and in terms of vibration diagnostics of machines failure. Completing the course students will obtain the ability to perform dynamic analysis of machines and machineries and to propose measures to ensure their reliable operation.
Course contents:
• Defining the problems of dynamics of machines and machineries.
• Analysis of machine vibration as a movable mechanical system with a finite number of DOFs in terms of passive vibration isolation, flexible mounting of machines, transmission of forces to the base
• Dynamics of shafts, dynamic analysis of shaft in rigid mounting (Laval's rotor), in flexible mounting.
• Dynamics of rotating machines, analysis of machine operation, steady-state operation, acceleration and deceleration of machines.
• Basics of theory of machines noise, engineering controls to machines noise reduction.
