Assesment methods:
Necessary condition for participation in the exam is successful completion of exercise. For successful completion of exercise students have to submit solved semester project to theme from area of unconventional technologies. At the end of the semester it is necessary to defend the semester project. Elaboration of semester project and also its defense will be evaluated by score.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The aim is to gain knowledge about the fundamentals of technology and machine tools design for non-conventional production methods, learn the specifics of non-conventional technologies and their integration into existing production processes of modern scientific and technological development.
Course contents:
Physical principles of non-conventional technologies. Benefits and reasons for applying non-conventional machining methods in engineering practice.
Application of non-conventional technologies in hazardous environments.
Basic requirements for machine tool design and equipment for unconventional technology. Design calculations of the main parameters of the machine (accuracy, performance, reliability, economic and environmental effects).
Examples: high-pressure hydraulic multiplier, cutting heads and nozzles, high pressuire hoses.
Platforms of fuzzy technologies: laser - milling, ultrasound - grinding, WJM - laser and etc.
Use of concentrated beams in machining - turning, forming.
The calculation parameters and design requirements for WJ machining equipment.
