Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The students obtain some knowledge from European and national legislative about protection of human being in working environment, about protection of building structures and machines. They acquaint with the main principles of acoustics and vibration, with assessment of noise situation, prediction of noise and vibration, with long-term and short term program of noise and vibration control, with methods of reduction vibration and noise, with systems of reduction noise and vibration, vibro-diagnostic and vibroisolation, structural modification, changes of technological process.
Course contents:
Legislative documents -- European directives and legislative and normative documents about safety and operation machines from point of view of vibration and noise, fundamental terms and quantities from noise and vibration control, identification of principal sources of vibration acting on hand-arm system, reduction of vibration by working loading, production and reconstruction of working process, choice of machines with low dynamic loading, anti-vibration systems and facilities of personal protection, management measures, strategy of human and environment monitoring, assessment of noise situation, solving of the problems on the working place, activity before machine buying, prediction of noise and vibration as a tool of planning, long-term program of noise and vibration control, methods and systems noise and vibration control, method of damping vibration in structures, anti-vibration layers, sandwich structures, resilient insertions, vibro-isolation, principle of absorption and resonance principle, sound-isolation, coincidence, application of noise and vibration control on some machines and structures, systems of noise and vibration control, vibro-diagnostics of machines, condition monitoring of machines.
