Assesment methods:
The numerical assignments from the field of static stress of welded structures and paper regarding the topic are solved at the exercises. The 100% exercises attendance and passing two tests are required. The tests and paper are scored by max. 30 and 10 points respectively. Credits will not be granted to a student who reaches less than 23 points. Final assessment comprises of exam score (max. 60 points) and score from excercises (max. 40 points).
 
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Student acquires theortetical knowledges from the area of design and production of welded constructions. He/she will know the basic mechanical properties of construction materials, and will be able to apply the basic elasticity and strength knowledge. Student is capable to design weld joints and simple welded constructions.
 
Course contents:
Introduction to the cracking mechanics.
Behavior of welding constructions at different ways of load.
Design of welding constructions exposed to different ways of load.
Design of steel constructions and construction parts.
Design of constructions and construction parts from aluminum and its alloys.
Application of heat and mechanical treatment of welding joints for decreasing stress and deformations originated from welding.
Fitness for service of welding constructions.
