|Learning outcomes of the course unit:|
|Design and execution of elementary types of structural members in water management constructions (WMC). Design of dimensions, calculation of actions and inner forces, reinforcement, ground plan and drawing of the reinforcement of foundation structures of WMC, retaining walls, liquid retaining and containment structures, embankments and dams. Categorization and main elements of bridges. Slab, beam and arch bridges. Influence of rheology and volume changes on the strain in structures. Watertight concrete structures (tanks).|
|• Horizontal and vertical structural structures of WMC. Actions, design and reinforcing
• Shallow foundations from plain and reinforced concrete
• Rectangular and circular tanks and reservoirs
• Water pipes, canals and channels
• Gravity and cantilever retaining walls
• Embankments, dams and harbour walls
• Bridges. Categorization of bridges. Slab, girder and arch bridges.
• Concrete volume changes, watertight concrete
• Watertight concrete structures
