Assesment methods:
In addition to lectures from individual ICT components, students are required to take excursions in the laboratories of the institutes providing the relevant area.
Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Cybernetics the science of systems control. Origin and history of cybernetics. Basic concepts and tasks. Robotics in the past and present. The future of robotics. Artificial intelligence and its basic concepts. Utilization of artificial intelligence tools in process control.
Course contents:
History, state of the art and trends of electronics. Electronics as hardware bases of ICT. History of optics, optoelectronics and photonic and their applications in ICT. New materials, organic electronics in ICT. Applications of HW and SW systems in ICT and other fields. System science - cybernetics. History of cybernetics. Cybernetics established modeling and control processes. Cybernetics as core of Industry 4.0. Robotics as specialization in cybernetics. Biocybernetics, the newest specialization in cybernetics. History of informatics, computers development, public figures in ICXT, from inventions to development of telecommunications enterprises, digitization, Shannon, Nyquist, internet, web, programming languages,. New trends in ICT: mobility, IoT, social nets.
