Learning outcomes of the course unit:
The student will acquire basic knowledge in the field of multimedia signal processing. He/she will learn the basic types of multimedia signals and their specifics. Students will learn to use multimedia processing and analysis methods. Based on this, they can analyze their time, spectral and energy properties. They will get an overview of the basics of different forms of multimedia processing and their use in practice.

Introduction, Signals and Systems
Image compression, JPEG, MPEG
Audio Compression, Compression Methods and Standards
Multimodal interface and its use for user identification and system navigation
Applications for multimedia processing
Virtual and augmented reality
Multisensorial data
