|Title of the thesis:||Protocol TCP in Wireless Systems|
|Summary:||This thesis focuses on the performance enhancements of TCP protocol in wireless systems and networks. It takes a closer look at the existing flow and congestion control mechanisms in various TCP modifications. It also discusses various Loss Differentiation Algorithms (LDAs) that differentiate between wireless and congestion types of losses. The correct classification plays a major role in the overall throughput of a specific modification. In the design and implementation phase, we integrate various LDAs into the Selective TCP modification in the ns-2 simulator environment. To properly test the implementation, we designed multiple network scenarios that use various network technologies. The most important measured parameters include the overall goodput and loss misclassification rates.|
|Key words:||TCP, wireless networks, performance|
